i was reading through all my old blogs on myspace and remembered that i hadnt written on here about spring harvest yet!
i got back yesterday late afternoon and am exhausted, i have a horrible cough that hurts my chest but the last 5 days could not have been better.
when we arrived on thursday it was a littel awkward. Nathan, Luke and Nads had never met Hannah and i hadnt seen Nathan or Nads for ages so was weird but once we got past that weirdness it was amazing :)
we had such a good time.
thursday: arrived in the afternoon and settled into our chalet, the boys then came round and we all went to dinner. the first evening session was good, Vicky Beeching was our worship leader and she was brilliant, so enthusiastic and that enthusiasm was infectious.
after the session we went to the beach but it was so windy that we didnt stay long and then we went to an after-hours comedy show which was ok...the boys loved it but i didnt find it so funny.
friday: the morning session was good. Hannah and I then did some shopping with our mums (brought some puppets and clothes) and then just chilled at our chalet whilst waiting for the boys to come back from swimming. then after the evening session we just chilled out and watched tv at our chalet, it was nice to just all spend some time together and have a laugh.
saturday: went to our morning session which was good again- we were studying the book of Isaiah and Jon who was leading it was very good, funny and insightful. in the afternoon we went and played crazy golf with Luke and Nathan's families. Hannah and I were a team and we won!!! Hannah won the individual competition. then Hannah and I were good friends and sat on the freezing cold beach whilst the boys played football...we lasted about an hour before we had to go back inside. after the evening session the five of us went to burger king and just chatted.
sunday: Hannah and i decided to skip breakfast this morning and have a bit more sleep which was nice. it was our last afternoon at S.H. so we guilt-tripped the boys into coming to the fair with us for a bit before they went to play footy (i honestly just dont get the football thing!). which was fun...Nathan came on the biggest ride with my but his harness wasnt locked in properly...he had a seat belt thing so he was safe but when we went upside-down he was falling out of his chair quite a bit. it sounds horrible but i laughed the whole time because he screams like a girl! bless him, his voice went all high and at one point he screamed out for Luke. i dont know how scared he really was but it made me laugh!
some more stuff happened in the evening but i'm not going to blog about it.
monday: we went to our morning session and then Hannah, my mum and i packed (Hannah's mum had left on sunday). then we said goodbye to the boys and Reuben (Nathan's little brother) who said 'olive-woir' to us. now the journey back was interesting, we were dropping Hannah at Taunton train station because she was going to London but we didnt leave ourselves alot of time (saying goodbye took longer than we thought) and so her train was leaving at 2.20pm and we got lost in Taunton at 2.15pm...we were all praying like mad...we pulled into the train station at 2.18pm and Hannah called us 3 minutes later saying she'd jumped on the train literally just before the doors closed!
then mum and i were stuck in the tailback of an accident for half an hour (something had crashed into a horse carrier, dont worry though- the horses were fine!) before we finally got home at 5pm.
so to summerise it was a brilliant week. i loved being back at Spring Harvest and it was amazing to have Hannah there with me. we scribbled goodbye notes in the boys' notebooks on sunday night and by monday morning all 3 of them had written us individual letters...they were lovely notes :)
it was great having mum there too, i think she really enjoyed it :)
i'm glad to be back at get some proper sleep though!
much love xxxx
