exhausted!

I got back this evening from the new wine leaders conference and I'm exhausted!
left at 6.20am on monday morning and then just been 3 very intense days of teaching, my brain is fried and I'm ready to sleep for 24 hours straight....unfortunately I have work tomorrow :(

the conference was good, very good teaching, amazing worship and alot of people- just very tiring.

in other news I've had a blood test because I get ill so much, I wanted to check there wasnt anything else going on. the results have come back and one of my levels is significantly raised but apparently its really unusual to just have this one raised and not the others so its probably a lab error- but just to check, my doctor wants me to have another blood test...fun fun(!)

other than that I dont have alot to say. last saturday we had the Doug Horley praise party which was brilliant, very fun and good workshop too.
coming up next week is the desire event so I imagine I'll be pretty busy with that- will try and blog again about it though :)

always the friend

I've worked out that I'm always the Friend.
To guys I mean, I'm always the friend, the one they come to for advice and talk to about other girls but never fancy. The one that suddenly gets less attention if they have a new girlfriend. The one who they don't see in 'that' way.

And I've decided that I love being that friend!

Yeah sometimes it sucks if I happen to like the guy but to be honest I have some of the best guy friends ever. Most of the time I've liked a guy but it hasnt been reciprocated and so we've just been friends and I realised how well that's worked out for me! It means that I have amazing friends and don't have to worry about being honest with them because they're my friends. I can wear a big jumper and look horrible and they don't care!

Of course one day it'd be nice to have a boyfriend but at this point in my life I don't want a boyfriend. yet I don't have to miss out on the male company and flirty banter because all my amazing guy mates provide that for me.

All of this comes after I had a really good conversation with a guy mate of mine who's going through some stuff and I realised that I love being just his friend. I get to be the one he trusts and confides in and comes back to. I get to just have fun and laugh with him and not have to worry about what it might mean.

Always being the friend is actually pretty good :)

spring harvest 08

i was reading through all my old blogs on myspace and remembered that i hadnt written on here about spring harvest yet!
i got back yesterday late afternoon and am exhausted, i have a horrible cough that hurts my chest but the last 5 days could not have been better.

when we arrived on thursday it was a littel awkward. Nathan, Luke and Nads had never met Hannah and i hadnt seen Nathan or Nads for ages so was weird but once we got past that weirdness it was amazing :)
we had such a good time.

thursday: arrived in the afternoon and settled into our chalet, the boys then came round and we all went to dinner. the first evening session was good, Vicky Beeching was our worship leader and she was brilliant, so enthusiastic and that enthusiasm was infectious.
after the session we went to the beach but it was so windy that we didnt stay long and then we went to an after-hours comedy show which was ok...the boys loved it but i didnt find it so funny.

friday: the morning session was good. Hannah and I then did some shopping with our mums (brought some puppets and clothes) and then just chilled at our chalet whilst waiting for the boys to come back from swimming. then after the evening session we just chilled out and watched tv at our chalet, it was nice to just all spend some time together and have a laugh.

saturday: went to our morning session which was good again- we were studying the book of Isaiah and Jon who was leading it was very good, funny and insightful. in the afternoon we went and played crazy golf with Luke and Nathan's families. Hannah and I were a team and we won!!! Hannah won the individual competition. then Hannah and I were good friends and sat on the freezing cold beach whilst the boys played football...we lasted about an hour before we had to go back inside. after the evening session the five of us went to burger king and just chatted.

sunday: Hannah and i decided to skip breakfast this morning and have a bit more sleep which was nice. it was our last afternoon at S.H. so we guilt-tripped the boys into coming to the fair with us for a bit before they went to play footy (i honestly just dont get the football thing!). which was fun...Nathan came on the biggest ride with my but his harness wasnt locked in properly...he had a seat belt thing so he was safe but when we went upside-down he was falling out of his chair quite a bit. it sounds horrible but i laughed the whole time because he screams like a girl! bless him, his voice went all high and at one point he screamed out for Luke. i dont know how scared he really was but it made me laugh!
some more stuff happened in the evening but i'm not going to blog about it.

monday: we went to our morning session and then Hannah, my mum and i packed (Hannah's mum had left on sunday). then we said goodbye to the boys and Reuben (Nathan's little brother) who said 'olive-woir' to us. now the journey back was interesting, we were dropping Hannah at Taunton train station because she was going to London but we didnt leave ourselves alot of time (saying goodbye took longer than we thought) and so her train was leaving at 2.20pm and we got lost in Taunton at 2.15pm...we were all praying like mad...we pulled into the train station at 2.18pm and Hannah called us 3 minutes later saying she'd jumped on the train literally just before the doors closed!
then mum and i were stuck in the tailback of an accident for half an hour (something had crashed into a horse carrier, dont worry though- the horses were fine!) before we finally got home at 5pm.

so to summerise it was a brilliant week. i loved being back at Spring Harvest and it was amazing to have Hannah there with me. we scribbled goodbye notes in the boys' notebooks on sunday night and by monday morning all 3 of them had written us individual letters...they were lovely notes :)
it was great having mum there too, i think she really enjoyed it :)
i'm glad to be back at get some proper sleep though!

its a new week :)

so today is the last day my godmother is in town :( we're going out for lunch together today and then i'm driving her into Oxford where she's staying with a friend until leaving tomorrow.
it's been so nice to see her and Colin so i hope we see them again soon.

for those who didnt notice, it snowed yesterday!! i was so excited, PJ and my mum came in and woke me up to tell me, they said they wanted to see my face when they told me...apparently it was worth it.
i completely love snow :D its one of God's best creations! beautiful, pure and incredibly fun to play in!

this week is shaping up to be a good week. i'm officially on holiday now, for about 2 weeks.
tomorrow night i'm going to Bicester Village during the day and then in the evening PJ and I are hosting a murder mystery which should be brilliant, its all a bit last minute since the box set only arrived today but got good people coming so should be a good evening.

on wednesday i'm going to be packing and getting ready because on thursday we're going to spring harvest :D am getting very very excited about going now. i cant wait to get back there and i'm going with Hannah W who i love to bits and always have a good time with (no silly drama) and the boys who always go.

i'm sleeping well, not getting stressed about work and generally just having time to relax which is great!
hope everyone else is having a good holiday

exciting stuff

ok so something exciting has happened...my godmother is here!
her and her husband (Angie and Colin) are over from America for the weekend! its so nice to see them again :D
so tomorrow Auntie A (thats what i call Angie hehe, always have and always will) and i are going shopping for some english food she can take back.
in the afternoon Nicola and some of the girls are coming round and my mural is finally being re-done! and then in the evening a couple of families are coming here to hang out with Colin and Auntie A.
on sunday i have a couple of church services and a cell social but not much.

Oh in other news, PJ is back from rowing camp, i actually really missed him...not that he really cared, he was back for half an hour before he went off to see Hannah! hopefully i'll get to catch up with him later.

AND i'm going to spring harvest on thursday :D am getting so excited about it!

the last week has been alright, was my mum's birthday yesterday and i had the day off so we had a really nice day together.
and apart from this sunday (when i'm technically working) i am now officially off work for 2 weeks! am so happy, i've gotten so stressed out and exhausted from work. i enjoy all the groups and school clubs etc but its so tiring and i need a break so i'm now catching up on sleep and just trying not to think about work!

anyway i thought i ought to update my blog since its been a week since i last wrote and lots of stuff has happened :)
oh and despite having some of the nicest sunniest evenings this week, apparently it might snow on sunday!
england has the weirdest weather!

alright i'm off, will blog before i got to spring harvest
much love xxxx
